This is our spin on  the classic formula Qī Băo Mĕi Rán Dān 七宝美髯丹 Seven Treasures Beard-Blackening Elixir. We’ve added Nu Zhen zi and Hei Zhi Ma to make it it even more nourishing. Using the formula this way makes even more sense:

Hair is considered the excess of the blood, so cooking this in a broth made of bones, or seaweed or mushrooms makes it even more nourishing.

A Warming formula for Post-Partum Recovery

Our modification of the classic formula from revered gynecologist Fu Qing-zhu, for postpartum retention of Lochia. Use for 2-3 days after childbirth or miscarriage to dispel cold and nourish blood. All the herbs gently warm and move without being scattering or drying. We’ve included Ba Ji Tian and Rou Cong Rong to supplement yang without drying

Ingredients:: Dang Gui Angelica Root Angelica Root, Chuan Xiong Ligusticum Root, Tao Ren Peach Kernel, Pao Jiang Blast Fried Ginger Root, Zhi Gan Cao Honey Toasted Licorice Root, Rou Cong Rong Cistanches Herba, Ba Ji Tian Morindae officinalis Radix
